libavdevice-extra-53 software package provides Libav device handling library (transitional package), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libavdevice-extra-53
libavdevice-extra-53 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libavdevice-extra-53 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libavdevice-extra-53 *
You will get with libavdevice-extra-53 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
